kobi2k4 2 Posted April 5, 2010 Report Share Posted April 5, 2010 at the moment i am a ferret man, but im thinking of getting a pooch in the future to flush, point, mark up burras and maybe a bit of ratting too. iv been looking threw the terrier section and like the look of the lakie n the boarder terrier, can anyone tell me if terriers can be flushes and pointers or are they just earth dogs. im only after a small dog and they both fit the bill. thnx for any info ATB Danny Quote Link to post

wirral countryman 2,110 Posted April 5, 2010 Report Share Posted April 5, 2010 I would have a leggy decent bred russell for flushing,marking,bushing,rats,ferretting,lakelands can be thick and a pain for flying to ground every chance they get,its hard to find a decent border,there is a lot of rubbish out there,if you don't like the smooth coat of the russell get a rough coated,russells have brains to spare and make good,biddable all round dogs that you can shoot ,dig,hunt and are capable of learning most things asked of them,they do best if treated well,they don't do well with harsh treatment when young,but are capable dogs in the right hands,hope this helps,atvb,wirralman Quote Link to post
