The best the "The Fell Terrier", obviously this is my own opinion. i have read this book and most of plummers other books like the someone else said it has a few contradictions in it as most of his books do. i never met the bloke but i know a lad who knew him well and half his stories are about other peoples dogs or dogs hes bred and sold or given away. when i was a youngster i regarded his books as bibles but havin read most of them and spoke to a few who knew him i know to take it with a pinch but a good entertaining read if you keep this in mind
scothunter 12,609
met him and corresponded a cpl of times.he was actually very funny and entertaining to listen to,and his books although were not true to fact were a good read.and his tales of his teaching days were pretty hilarious.but as lads have said take them with a pinch of salt.Think most young lads started off reading plummer books.got me into reading more books so cant be a bad thing imo

staffie25 0
Diary of a Hunter is an entertaining book, and one which when you start you cannot put down. Some of it is a bit slow but it shows how much hunting you could do in a year if you tried. Sure some of may not be 100% true, but hey we're all hunters and i've not met one that speaks the truth all the time- that includes me!
