slingshot 0
: hi lads well as its the easter weekend i thought it would be rude not to have a mooch and im pleased i did it started off late sunday night we'd been up the caravan all weekend and id not had the gun out but sunday night got the better of me .id been watching the bunnys running around all day but as it was in season for the caravaners through the day was a no go with the s510 and by the time night fell the beers had been flowing so shooting ended up a no go as well lol :whistling: but sunday night was our last night and as i was driving home the next morning i didnt have a drink so out came the gun on !!! the 1st came as a lased 40 mtr shot 1 mil dot hold over poor little bunny didnt know what hit it (but i did) 1st in the bag with the bunnys being used to people being around it made the night very easy if i was honest the 2nd fell at 10mtrs 2mil dot hold under and down it goes which just goes to show how close you could get to them the 3rd ,4th and 5th were all sitting out in the open i decided to lay up under a conifer and after about 20mins 3 appeared at once they must of been about 10mtrs between them they were lased at 30mtrs bang on my zero the 1st dropped didnt even kick and the other 2 kept on munching as if nowt had happened the 2nd one dropped which spooked the other into the hedge line i thought it had gone but a quick scan with the lamp and its eye lit up like a homing signal for the bisley mag.. 5 in the bag and i was only about 5 caravans away from mine lol so i headed back to drop these off a quick cuppa and back out as id already been down one side of the site i headed anti clockwise around and i couldnt believe it the whole field lit up with little red dots this place was over run however unlike the others these didnt want to make it easy for me i decided just to lie up along the side of the pavillion and give it time to settle 30mins later 1 by one they started to settle and move out from under the caravans one of the big things you have to watch is where the pellet will end up the last thing i wanted would be someones caravan getting damaged so i waited untill the bunnys were well clear and the dry stone wall became the back stop on this part number 6 came at 27 mtrs as it dropped all the rest scattered but patients pays off for those who wait! i ended up with another 4 so total for the night (5hours) was 10 little easter bunnies atb gary Edited April 7, 2010 by slingshot Quote Link to post
Alexisrouzee 6
found this link on the BASC http://www.basc.org.uk/en/departments/game-and-gamekeeping/game-shooting/shooting-seasons.cfm have a read, it doesnt state anywhere about not shooting game/vermin over easter but does say that ''No game (including hare) may be shot in any county on any Sunday or on Christmas day.'' - didnt know that Quote Link to post
