You guessed correctly mate- It was one of the very rare instances that I left my rifle in the jeep there was so much Grey Fox scat and the brush was very thick so I just brought the shotgun. At around 30 minutes into the call session the Lion came sneaking in doing the lowest belly crawl to the calling speaker that was in a small tree. When I brought the shotgun up the big cat looked directly at me. The last thing it saw was the blast from the shot. I found out later when I was checking the Lion in with the Game Warden that you are supposed to use a solid slug in a shot gun or a rifle to shoot lions he let me off with a warning. I think he was pleased to see the lion in the truck as they eat the shite out of the deer in that area. We have plenty of lion's in Arizona. Thanks for the reply. Quote Link to post
