Not meaning to sound big headed in saying that but is just how I find them.

 

Getting back to books The Saluqi; Coursing Hound Of The East, Edited by Gail Goodman but with section written by many Salukis Enthusiasts from around the world many gathering their experiences in the Middle East.

 

AWRYTE BUD A DNT NO ABOUT MUCH BOOKS AS A DNT BELIVE IN LISTEN TA SOME 1S OPINION WHEN EVERY 1 HAS THERE OWN AND IF U HAD TA READ ALL THESE BOOKS U WOULD HAVE ABOUT 30 DIFFRENT AWNSERS AV GOT A SALUKIE X MY SELF A GOT AFF YER MAN WHIN BIT MY OPINION IS TAKE YER DOG AS IT COMES ITS ONLY GNA DO WIT U PUT IN 2 IT PS f**k THE BAN

But honestly its quite easy once to put it into practice.

 

Also get the dog listener coming so will compare the 2.

One of the best threads ive read on here. I have a saluki x pup. Its the first lurcher ive owned and trained. A lot on here rings true about him - difficult to train and very dominant. maybe cos ive not been training him "saluki style" . Will definatley be on the look for some of the books mentioned. Thanks to everyone who contributed, its pointed me in the right direction and answered a lot of questions.

If you follow what he says in his books you wont go wrong.As the man says,a dog is a dog.Doesnt matter what the bread.all dogs have pack mentality.Lead your dog & he will work with you,not because you train him to.But because he respects you & you respect him.only humans follow unbalnced leaders.Its worked for me.

saluki ..arabic word mybe the name of a old city .. adopted by the west mainly

 

 

 

but about 10,000 years ago in old persia /iran there was a tribe .called thre TAZIHA , these people were described as being ..fit, light ,and athletic , in persian language there is a word that describes these attributes ..the word is ,,TAZI ..or TANJI .it described perfectly ,a dog in that area (what the west call saluki) the name TAZI is used today in northern ,iran /kurdistan .and north of th caspian sea in asia, to describe this dog (saluki)!!!
