dicehorn 38
Just a quick question with regards to packs of hounds ie foxhounds - do they have to be licensed as in legal requirement? Quote Link to post
fmwtc 12
you can have your own pack of hounds just like terriers or lurchers ect but it is well worth affiliating yourself to a governing body ie english farmers fox control association or the welsh equivilant in order to become registered with the mfha you need ot provide them with maps of the ground that you intend to hunt and also a big fat cheque of i think about 800 pounds this does give you legal protection ect and i would say it would benefit you if you dont have anyone else hunting your land ect private packs are frowned upon by most mfha packs and also the fell packs committee.why i couldnt tell you in this day and age it should be all hands to the pumps the more the merrier they are the biggest bunch of hypocrites going making a big fuss over lads getting hounds off other packs when secretly they also let other pirate packs have em.its the old case of its who you know not what best of luck if your going t form a pack mate i did and it has been the most fun i have had this past season its good hunting with someone elses hounds but it brings a tear to your eye to see your own go on one good luck Quote Link to post

Linton Lad 90
Alot of good small private or gun packs on go now. Estates are keen to use them at the end of the shooting season on places where there are no registered packs and these lads are more than happy to accomodate you. They will account for more foxes than big packs. Edited April 4, 2010 by Linton Lad Quote Link to post
