went out this morning to try and take a pheasant killing fox.i rang my mate who was supposed to come but he told me that my bitch and his dog had a fight so they were renderd useless, got hold of my mate who keeps russels and he said he wold be over tried the first earth dog in baying well steady mark we started to dig the dog came out, when we stopped digging and got the dog in again we got a mark in the same place this carried on for some while untill we tried his other russel and it did the same thing, we then went to another earth and the two dogs performed exactly the same, any ideas what went wrong as i have dug to the older russel many times. Would my patterdale have got us a result because she is harder than these to russels ??

If you have dug to the older russell before and you know it is 100% the question i would be asking is why did it walk out Eg, not very well, quarry it doesnt like.

how old were the dogs, and how deep was the dig, and how many times has you mate dug to his dogs.because some inexperants dogs get distracted by the sound of the digging never liked russel anyway why did tou not slip the patterdle anyways imo you pair are as bad as the dogs you all walked away

because are patts were knocked up because theyve been fighting and we cant dig to a dog which isnt in ther and ther was no other dogs there to finish the job else we would have i was livid [bANNED TEXT] i agreed to give him best but with no dog holding charlie he would just have moved as we started bumping again

he seemed well enough in himself and has bolted and dog foxes before perhaps he has just thrown the towell in ive heard of dogs doing this, what do u think

the older russel is four years and the younger one is two years the depth was between 1.4 and 0.8 on both earths nothing massive puppy spots really (well the second) ther was two holes on the first earth and good scent and one hole on the second with remains of pheasants so these two dogs should have got the goods, this is why i dont rate russells and stick to the patts

I dont believe the lads were as bad as the dogs and in my eyes the fox deserved to live if they didnt have a dog on the bank that could work it properly, myself would rather give it best than scratch around trying to get it with shit dogs ,
