Lad with young terrier needs help

Areet everyone .... im 18 years old and live in sunderland ..... i have a 6 and a half month old lakeland terrier bitch called lola .... want to make her a working terrier as i am trainin to become a gamekeeper i know nobody in my immediate area with an already experienced terrier for my pup to learn from ... if any one could help me out please reply

Dont worry about it too much for now mate as the season has come to an end and your dog is a bit young. By time the new season comes around your dog will be older and im sure someone will be willing to help.

Ye pal youre right about the season coming to an end ...... im hoping to have it attached to the spade next season but i ment .... showing it how to go about killing rats squirrels and mink .... you know what i mean ?

yes mate. I found that my bitch would kill rats etc as soon as she seen them she didnt need guidence from another dog. My idvice would be just show it what you can until someone comes along to help. Maybe set a few live traps for rats and squirells and see what your terrier thinks of them through the cage befor you go any further.

Yeh ... i ve bought a live cage trap am setting it tonite ... my pup took a bite off one of me ferrets through the bars of the cage and now bays at them ... wondering if she will kill a rat or not hoping she will rap it up ... would you suggest lettin the rat out .... or shooting it with a air weapon nd let the dog finish it ??

We have some good craic. At the minuite i only have a lakie X patt bitch she is 12 month old and ive had 7 digs with her. Ive not been over here long and will hopfull get a few more terriers about me by next season. A mate who i hunt with has a 10mnth old lakie bitch who is showing good promise but she seems a bit slow in the head lol :thumbs::clapper:
