THE COUNTRYSIDE ALIANCE

Recommended Posts

I Marched in Scotland , London and lots of others in between and i didnt just march for shooting, hunting, terriers, lurchers or coursing. I marched for EVERYTHING.

Retrospectively it was a bit of a waste of time, but i can say i tried. :victory:

Just looking back one gets the feeling that all these "Marches" were some form of money making scheme....and i honestly do not know where the millions and millions of pounds we all raised went. :icon_eek:

Some one made a lot of money somewhere along the line i guess!

The CA needed a few more Grass roots lads on board, lads experienced in lurchers and terriers.

Now it seems that the Rural Post Office is the hot potato...... :icon_eek:

Shame really.......JD

I agree on the other hand David Cameron said the other day that if the conservatives get in he will allow a free vote, nothing in between the lines if the Tories get in there will be a free vote ,and all aspects of hunting will be in the public arena again, and as we have nothing to loose it can be only be a good thing ,this i guess as cost the CA alot of donations as we have seen MPs dont do alot for nothing

Well said danw,- i did the marches and could have taken many more with me, but they could not be bothered. Very well known terrier folk did not go because they said they did not like London. If everyone had bothered to go, the outcome may well have been different. Two million easily could have hit London, and the Labour government would have had to re-think, before using the Parliament act to push the ban through.

A free vote to overturn the ban, is the whole ban by saying the present ban is not legal.

Thats the reason me and thousands of dog lads like me did not go on any of the marches they all wanted the ordinary peoples support [bANNED TEXT] it was inevitable that the ban would be put in place but the same farmers and land owners that marched would be the same people who would have you prosecuted for poaching a few rabbitscensored.gif

A great 'free thinking' post GTE :hmm::victory: , with a election closing in fast, it's time to have a say, i did, when both Labour and Tory sent 'feelers' out asking which way i'd vote and why.

Though Darcy's hit the nail on the head as far as the CA are concerned, money going to money!

Personally, I really do not belive we will get anything back, once gone, it's gone forever.

We can only hope that champions like Barry Wade :toast: continue to hold out and fight for small pockets of our chosen way of life and pray that somebody equally dedicated picks up the baton in years to come.

I went on both marches, and the rallies, and hunt both with mounted packs, beagles and run long dogs, the CA are trying to help everyone by getting hunting legally back!

Surely you lot are not all so short sighted that you can't see that you'll all be able to enjoy the sports you (and I) love so much if hunting is made legal again? No longer having to worry about looking over your shoulder and being able to course on permission in the open, in daytime without worry? (And yes i'm sure all you big hard men will say you do anyway and don't care about the police.....good on you.....but if you want to be able to do it in some of the best bits of England we need the Act revoked!!)

Any organisation that has weight in the political arena and aims to revoke the hunting act for the benefit of ALL countryside field sports is a good thing and deserves our support!! Don't be so parochial that you just simply stick your head in the sand expecting others to do work for your benefit, get out there and start supporting the CA and the Conservatives, this summer is our big chance to get back officially what we all love! KEEP HUNTING!!!

poaching and trespass were against the law a long time before they banned hunting with dogs

I know that wat i am saying is if land owners had made their land more accesible to ordinary people in the past instead of the privaliged more people would be involved with hunting like they are with fishing because its easily accesable thats why they dare not ban it.

Just a question and I ain't looking for a argument I have 2 lads course the estate I keeper they are good lads not privileged in any way I caught them poaching and cause they were alright with me we struck a deal and now they have written permission for the rabbit but how many people can you give permission to. they lads would soon be pissed with me if I gave permission to any one else they see the coursing as theirs and protect it as such.

Just depends how much land their is .I poached the yorkshire dales for years and never once come across other lads wich was supriesing the amount who claimed to have permission and the only bother i had was a farmer who got abusive because he claimed i had stolen a hundred pounds worth of HIS rabbits and i wouldent get out of the dale aliveicon_eek.gif
