Richie10 345
Hi, I have a 17 month Salukixwheaten that has whippet and foxhound in him, I think. Well he seems to be bullying/fighting with my Salukixgrey that is 8months, problem is it goes a bit far with a few cuts here and there. The Wheaten is crazy for foxes but never been on one because of the ban. Also now he is adult he is alot more obediant but is more aggressive towards strangers. Have people experience infighting and increase aggression? The wife is looking to muzzle him and give him the snip, but not sure this will cure the problem. I don't have time to walk them separately and like to see them run together, but it usually ends with a fight and a dirty pup! Cheers for any suggestions. Rich
dhard 0
Male dog castration only decreases aggresion and humping short term. It is not uncommon for said problems to return down the track. It does however decrease the likelyhood of them being the victims of male dog aggression and testicular cancer. The problem you have is that he is at that maturity stage where he is trying to assert his position and test the pack order. Is the 8mth old a dog or bitch as with the two of them being close this could be the issue as neither is mature yet and they both want the top dog position. Personally i think an 18mth gap in age is good as the older dog has allready gone through the puppy stage and generally isn't challenged when it sets the rules. The other puppy is a dog and does often test the water with the older dog, hopefully then in the next few months it should peter out?
runforyourlife 361
seen plenty of good dogs ruined by being castrated, the aggression turns to nervous aggression and you end up with an unstable dog Lol, this should have been posted on april fools......
ben0777317 0
Everytime the pup starts playing up just say 'No' firmly (assuming you've taught it what it means). It'll soon learn not to do it....
