Thats the problem though there are some good lads and ladies on here who care about their permission who look after their dogs like their kids and just get on with their sport quietly and conscientiously (I doubt thats spelt right)

this is exactly what the problem is!! people tarring poachers and theses mindless hunting gangs(killing squads) with the same brush!!

yes its hard to get permission especially in areas plagued with the kind of idiots ive allready discribed and you need to hop the fence!!

and its a real shame for people who cant get permission because i belive you would look after your ground but until theses types of people are stopped(wich is what the police in oxfordshire are trying to do) poachers who are only out for the odd bunny not doing any harm are going to get the blame for the arseholes that have been causing the grief!!

poachers are nothing like these gangs, and until landowners and police distinguish between the two were going to keep on suffering because of them!!!

I'm not a Lurcher man. I'm more into Gun Dogs. I have no problems with Lurcher men aslong as they have permission. But when they start poaching, that's when it needs to be dealt with. Most poachers these days go over the fields in their trucks ruining the crops, recking pens etc.

could be worse ,they could own guns as well ,then because they get out more than you ,there would be feck all for you to work your dogs on ,just like us ,

just read this post from start to finish again . the idiots driving the feilds deserve what they get and the mob handed brigade must be braindead if they think they are going to get away with it in this day and age. but to the ones who think all poachers without permission are the same you want to get a life also whoever said why have a lurcher if you have no permission are you real .i have run that area for quite a few years and as i said be sensible on and off. walking only you alone or with a mate and if aproached be polite and courteous always worked for me . in the last few years i have been lucky to get permission through some very good mates and also some by luck but in 40 odd years its never stopped me running my dogs or respecting property or whatever game ime hunting but what i will say is in my opinion if you cant respect the ground your hunting on or whatever your hunting then you shouldnt be there and that goes for poaching or permission .

who says poaching goes hand in hand with breaking things or setting fires? there are plenty people who have a walk out with their dog and catch a bit of game for the freezer and dont do nobody any harm nothing gets broken or damaged its gone on for hundreds of years! you sound like one of those press nutters spouting off about the savage villans thugs to sell a good story

 

As I HAVE SAID in previous posts, I have no problems with PROPPER Lurcher men who ask permission, shut gates behind them, respect the land and quarry but most of the poachers I have seen/come accross cause trouble.

Never see any poachers with running dogs on any of the farms i shoot on, and dont have any trouble with dogs unleashed either, mind you there are signs around saying any unleashed dogs will be shot on sight DAY or NIGHT.

That i dont see any poachers with running dogs, or unleashed dogs, i dont understand, we are talking about sheep farms here, the farmer doesnt have a problem with dogs on his farm as long as they are on a leash, he only puts the signs up as a warning and if owners dont heed the signs, and let there dogs run FREE then they will be shot on sight, if folk with dogs dont like the rule, then they dont have to enter the farmers land.

Me personally i wouldnt shoot the DOG as it doesnt know any better, it would be better to shoot the CROC OF SHITE that let it loose.

it can work both ways shoot a mans dog can bring alot of trouble if the dogs doimng nothing wrong ,and going about his bizness ,simple as but you not the man to be telling or winding up guys shooting dogs cause well , eye for an eys as they say ,if a man shot my dog for no apparent reason than him chaseing a rabbit in his feild well ,when i see his sheep escaped out feild you can run them over, or let somebody could let them out by mistake, very easy to play cards and one good hand deserves another as does one bad hand ,
