I have to say I've rarely seen a vet do something so stupid in all my life. When I questioned his wisdom he started reeling off his credentials at me. He's the owner of the practice if you can believe that. Suffers a serious God complex.

 

I'm glad it ended well but it needn't have taken so bloody long or put my dog thru so much pain. 5 weeks she was on lead ... should've seen her face every time she looked out and saw all that snow she couldn't play in The skin on her chest is even thinner now than it was to begin with and it's all pursed around the area that was injured. But I wish now that I had just treated it myself from the get go and avoided the vet altogether.

 

 

As an aside one of the farmers i know is working to remove all barbed wire from his land and he is a hill sheep farmer which is great for me as i tend to get the crotch of my pants snagged trying to step over fences and with a dodgy leg and a worse back trying to free myself is hysterical for other people watching!!

 

Been there many a time myself Bad enough in broad daylight but worse still in the pitch dark!

Can I ask a couple of ? re the wound as I'm struggling to see what the vet was up to! Sometimes a wound can be meshed, which means that the available flap will not cover the wound so you puncture the flap to alow it to stretch more, this means there are multiple small holes remaining but that is better than one big one as far as healing goes. So was the wound big/spread so the edges could not meet or at least very tight, which would mean they had tried a messing type of repair?What antibiotics were prescribed? How long from wound to stitching? What did the vet suggest once the stitches had broken down? Just trying to get an idea what they were up to thanks Sandymere.
