EastTyrone 2
how important is it for you to get a good kc registered dog?? Quote Link to post
rickyspringer 15
don't think its important at all, as long as the dog is out of 2 workers and your happy with the way they work..why should paperwork come into it, unless you want to trial Quote Link to post

Horses for courses as they say. Just make sue the sire & dam have had thier health checks Lab: hips & eyes. Lee swingtip gundogs Quote Link to post
butcherboy 68
how important is it for you to get a good kc registered dog?? For me.........vital. I seek out and aim to get the "best" pedigree dogs I can get hold of. Does it give me any guarantees ? No but it hopefully gives me some sort of base level to start from. I want to trial my dogs so KC Registered is a must. That said I wish it was more like the terrier lads who just know the good dogs through word of mouth or better still having seen them work. Terrier lads (& lassies) seem to give the best pups to mates etc & keep the quality to those who will use it. Price isn't the answer for these lads and gundog people could do worse than follow their example. 1 Quote Link to post

Guest dee mac
100% correct Butherboy!! Thats exactly what its all about i keep both terriers and spaniels and thats the first time i ve heard a gundog man think along the same line s as myself if money was taken out of all working dog breeds standards would be a lot higher and every one would benifit from a hiher quality of dog as the breeding of substandard dogs for pups to sell would be no more we live in hope but i dont think i ll ever see it .
