My hides are pretty basic, nothing flash like those.

I use a couple of DPM Army surplus poncho's.

Usually sniping over warrens I stick a couple of sticks in the ground and lay the poncho out on the ground with the edge over the sticks so its about 18-20 inches high. Then stick a bit of scrim over the scope and legs of the pod and thats worked very very well for me in the cemetery.

In the paddock permission, I have used the same set up with the addition of another poncho to prevent the birds from seeing me.

I have now obtained a surplus Gortex bivvi bag that will be used to keep me warm in with my head and gun being hidden with a poncho.

Once the foliage is out on the permissions, then I will build a natural hide, out of local materials. I don't believe in paying over the odds for something like a portable hide.

Steve price made a brilliant cheap tent hide, cost about 20 quid from Argos :D

Phantom,

Is this the set up that Steve Price uses in his DVD? I was thinking of giving it a go as I've just ordered a Flecktarn Poncho off Ebay.

Cheers

I've got a great big army camo net truck cover. lol.

I normally hunt alone but am planning on having the odd mate down to shoot thought the hide would be ideal to just pull up start hunting .

+ you can move around abit make a cupa ect .

I no it's pricey but I had the money burnning a hole in my pocket lol. if I didn't spend it the wife would lol.

Hi Celticwar.

That hide of your's will also be nice and dry, and snug on those wet windy cold day's.

Nice fold up chair in there too......pure luxury mate

When you have time put some pic's up for us all to drool over.......good luck with it.

Hey guy's,

Went out yesterday for a sniping session.

Weather looked dodgy to say the least and the wind was howling :wallbash:

Got my little bivvi and poncho basha set up (used 2 poncho's this time to give me some room)

I was about to take a couple of pix to show you how simple it is when the heavens opened up. So I got inside and awaited the rain and driving wind to subside.

Once it had all calmed down (about an hour later) I had forgotten about pix (as well as my flask of hot black Java :wallbash: sat at home) and got down to zeroing the big scope that I had put back on the Baby.

I'll try and remember the pix today if I go back out.
