my new dog

picking up this fella on wednesday!! he is in a rescue centre and was going to be put down today :thumbdown: :wallbash: so i thought id give him a chance!! i took him a walk out yesterday afternoon he is a nice dog got good tight feet and uses his nose alot on rabbit runs and is sound with my other dogs but will find out more when ive had him a while. he is only 12 months old so got time to work with him over the summer for next season but not expecting a world beater just see how he does. still got his balls aswell so might use him on my bitch in a few years time but got a long way to go before that happens just really happy to have a blue greyhound as i like them!! he was a stray and been in a pound since 9 months old so he has been well looked after and socialised and not brought up in racing kennels as ive seen ex racers and some are nuts with other dogs but he has got none of that. he is racing bred tho as he has got ear tattos but ive never had a pure grey before i know they are not the best working dogs but it dont matter with him he can just tag along with the lurchers but anyone who has worked them and got any tips on them is more than welcome to comment

poor little sod wants some good grub and tlc!!! well done , ive done the working of a pure grey and had a ball doing it !!! go for it , 1 less death and a happy young dog

Couple of weeks of decent grub and bit of exercise and hel look like a different dog. watch him with fences for a while. atb with blue

Beautiful looking hound, I would be having words with the kennels though, looks like he need some grub!!

Good luck with the Greyhound, feed him well and get him some field craft over the summer and he will perform for you, one of the best dogs I have had was an Ex track bitch and she would give her all but she cost me s fortune on sow ups at the vet.

goodluck with your pup like said some good grub time and patience he'll come wright. i run a pure blue bitch from top honcho and she has no reverse jumps anything, but dont expect much from there nose after all there sight hounds.

 

there not the best workers, is there such a thing if he's as game as my bitch he'll open a few eyes i tell you

my mate worked a pure grey and was the best marking dog i seen. lacke d a bit of stamina but never lacked the heart. God luck and let us know how it goes
