Guest samstheman
Hi all, Got a 15 month old JR who seems to have one ball only. However, he tries to mount anything that moves. I have read that a dog who is blessed with only 1 ball should be castrated, as he will probably throw offspring with the same defect - any thoughts? Quote Link to post

Dawn B 212
Yes it is inherited, yes it can cause a real serious problem for your dog. testicles are OUTSIDE the body because they need to retain a lower temperature, inside the body they become liable to tumours because of the increased heat. At his age it wont come down on itself. Do NOT use him at stud, inform the breeder he has this in his lines, either castrate or have the retained testicle removed. dawn. Quote Link to post
