There are lenghts they will goto to get what dog they want Be Warned and Be prepared no matter how good your padlock is they have a tool for it get a good alarm system or get some trip wire alarms that the old women used to have in handbags then atleast you will be notified,I thought my Guard dog would bark when they came to take my dog but i think they must have given him something.Dont rely on a dog.

its been heard of robbers to become friendly with security dogs, just by regularly standing other side of fence and putting bit of meat through few times a week doesnt take long for the best of security dogs to come round. only way to be safe is up your reactive security so just get a good very loud alam with a very bright sensor light outside to detect movement as well. a thiefs main advantage is darkness. the only lock and chain which are cut proof are the titanium ones like the very thick motor bike chains and locks. but must be titanium as there bolt crop proof. i'd definatly take action if i was the poster as the experienced theifs always scope and plan there jobs well and to me that looks what those blokes are doing. also i can recommend the new smart water alarm systems as there loud as feck and when the theif enters through door sprays them with a dye. which means for 3-4 months there skin will be painted and then garrenteed to be caught after by police if your deaf enough not to hear the alarm. and there no chemical or enough water in the world to wash it off skin it remains active for at least 3 months till it fades.

The man power and time needed would make that very difficult, shame as they need a good kicking. These people have no nerves. A bloke I know who works in a pretty tough proffession had his JRT pup nicked from outside a shop not only did the thief ask for money he went round to the house with the dog to get his money and threatened what would happen to the family if they did anything!

Thanks for the advice. I've got them inside now, I was supposed to go to market today but I'm not leaving the house empty. Police round here not interested in dog theft or anything else for that matter. I think a march against dog theft would be a good idea, try and get the police to do something. Theres been a few dogs round here taken and a couple have turned up horribly injured.

If i were you, i would inform the police, say you feel un-nerved by this mans behaviour and request they arrange a patrol car/officer to drive by your area as a deterant, also tell them that if anything happens to you or your dogs you will be putting in a formal complaint and you will go to the newspapers saying that you requested support and wasn't given it.

As far as security goes, step it up, flood lights, alarms etc.

If you see this man again, confront him (pref with your shepherd) and tell him that should anything happen to you or the dogs he WILL be tracked down as a friend of yours is photographing him as you speak thumbs.gif

A guy i know came home from the range one day and a lad passed him behind his house pulling a wheelie bin, this guy and his mate asked the lad what he was doing with the bin and when they opened it the guys dog was inside.....leave you to peace the rest together but it involved a car ride a roll of gaffer tape and a baseball bat :gunsmilie:

Some very good advice thanks. My guard dog dosn't actually ever bark at people too confident the bitch is yap yap but dogs are no match for somebody who knows what they're doing will have to get some electronic deterants.

me personaly and it is only my opinion ...i would sit off and wait with a mate or someone ....like i did when my car was getting damaged on a regular occurance.... i always say whatever you bring to me i will return it 10x without question.... i have no hesitation in approaching anyone around my home or work and f***ing them off face to face... abrupt is right but hey it's the society we live in i'm afraid

had some one come around to see my pups yesterday said not what they wanted, last night someone tries to get into the shed to have them, but the bitch put them off.phoned police and was told as nothing was taken nothing they could do but i have to make sure the bitch does not bite anyone as i will face a court case...wish the bitch had thumbs then i could leave a shotgun with her..

set up as much security as you can even poacher alarms ,lights and alarms.get a load of friend s to call in whenever they are passing so the sods can't make out whos about and when.and buy a paintball gun freeze the ammo.

wallbash.gif This country is so damn wrong!! I had problems with my ex, he was stalking me and told my cousin he was going to set me on fire, went to the cop shop one day when i knew he was following me, i was so scared, they told me that they couldn't do anything unless her harmed me, they didn't even make notes on what i had said wallbash.gif

Bit off topic i know but it is so wrong that nothing is done UNTIL a crime is commited, well it is too bloody late then isn't it GRRRRRR thumbdown.gif

hope you sorted it hollie but it's a sign of the times that we pay for the police but when we need them they can't won't help..but i have found that if a thief meets a nasty accident he is the first to go to the police for help and they then turn up and give me trouble....
