Bald spot

Recommended Posts

Had my 2 ferrets for about 2 years now, they are my first ferrets and are to brothers, one is albino and another is a BEW, both hobs. I know that bald spots are bad news and have noticed some patches of thin hair on the inner thighs on the back legs but they both have it exactly the same so I thought nothing of it and that all ferrets must have it. I went and picked up a polecat hob on Friday and he doesn't have any thin hair around his thighs. Do I need to get my 2 down the vets just to be sure or am I looking to much into it. Neither of them seem to be any discomfort.

Cheers, Aaron.

Aaron do they use a pop hole to get into there beds ? they are moulting out now as well so the thinning coat could be that

if there eating & acting normally i would just relax a bit .. if your really worried then by all means see a vet but its very probably something very simple

ive currently got 7 ferrets and my old boy who is now 7 years, has had bald patches on his front legs for for coming on 4 years now, ive had them checked by the vet, nothing they can find thats a problem and other people have looked over him who have kept ferrets longer than i have(ive kept them 10 years), none the wiser, he is perfectly happy, eats, drinks fine no pain what so ever and happy, so get the ferret checked by your vet, but it could be nothing serious
