leedetek 9 Posted March 28, 2010 Report Share Posted March 28, 2010 hi everyone ,just wondering have any of you falconry people ever known of a kestral taking anything bigger than voles and mice ? i was walking the dogs out yesterday with my sons and saw a kestral take a baby rabbitt, i wasn t seeing things because we found the bunny where it flew up from. thanks. jasper65 6 Posted March 28, 2010 Report Share Posted March 28, 2010 A pal had a male Kestrel a good few years back flying it on a playing field when it Ignored him completely and dropped low skimming the ground to the end of the field and litteraly bound to a Magpie near the back fence, it didn't hold it for long but it had the balls to go for it..... I would think the poor old Kestrels have found it hard over this winter and had to turn their attention to other quarry... Jasper Quote Link to post

danny boi 0 Posted April 7, 2010 Report Share Posted April 7, 2010 i was sat one day waiting to enter the country estate were i teach kayaking sometimes an saw a wood pigeon sat on a fence post, a female kestrel nailed it on the post but it sat tight an after about 30 seconds of flapping and squaking the kestrel gave up as it was a large woody.
