Gloop 5
I once shot a Red Stag at 300 meters with an air rifle whilst holding the rifle over my shoulder blind folder and whistling dixie. He went straight down he did. You have to realise that it is a one in a million shot. Therefore you have to ensure that the shot you take is "One in a million" Oh dear, I'm starting to believe my self.............. Actually I was looking at you tube and there are some people on there who got into long range target shooting. They well hitting targets at 100 yards with a 12ft pound air rifle. Bloody good shooting. Quote Link to post

matt_hooks 188
A .222 at 1000 yards isn't such a stretch, well over 1000ft.lb, and if you're shooting steel you can get away with it. Shooting at live creatures well outside the useful range of the weapon is a very different thing! Zini from here has some video on YouTube of target shooting with legal limit air rifles at 90odd yards, but he wouldn't shoot at live quarry at that range! Quote Link to post

It has very little to do with the rifle its more to do with the bullet, you quote you can shoot a rabbit at 250 yards no problem, with a .22 rimfire Im sorry but you are either a very experienced shooter who can compensate for the massive bullet drop at 250 yards or alternatively its complete BS...I suspect its the latter if you think its down to the rifle, and that the Ruger cant make this kind of shot but the CZ can attitude (P.S I have both a CZ and a 10/22). What ever your thoughts attempting to shoot a rabbit at 250 yards with a .22 rimfire is irresponsible IMO. Quote Link to post

The 10-22 is good to a point and that point is when it jams and they all do whatever cleaning you do .Also a terrible lead waster but that said they are fun ,enough said . Quote Link to post
