Gloop 5
I have a 10/22 Synthetic .22lr semi-auto. Best rimfire by far that I have ever owned. I have been looking at the 10/22 and a lot of people say they are unreliable as in not cycling properly, heavy triggers etc etc. What bullets do you use. I would be looking to use sub sonics to keep the noise level down even though by nature the semi will be slightly noiser than a bolt action. Have you had any mods done? Quote Link to post
The Seeker 3,048
Yep got to agree I have a 10/22 and it's a great price of kit. The trigger is shite and I intend to get this sorted when funds permit, had a few rounds fail to recycle but not enough for it to be a problem Get one you won't be sorry.. Quote Link to post
Murdo 0
People slag them off, unfairly in my opinion. It does depend what you want to use them for, they won't deliver the consistency of a bolt action BUT remember what you are wanting to use it for. I had a cz silhouette, traded it for a 10/22 all weather. Absolutely delighted. It is handy, accurate enough for lamping and very reliable (i use eley subs). You do need to keep the working parts clean but its no big task. As said above, trigger is terrible. I got a trigger kit from midway uk, took 10 mins to put in and groups tightened up really nicely. I use mine mostly for walking with the lamp, and wouldn't swap it but use the HMR by day tho! Hope this helps Murdo Save Stornoway Coastguard - www.stornowaycg.co.uk Quote Link to post

masmiffy 82
10/22 is a great tool for bunnies. Sometimes struggle cycling subs but a quick clean should sort that! As for trigger Rimfire Magic do a kit for around £10 - 12 I think. Mate has just had a kit off them for his CZ452 HMR and it made a huge difference, easy to fit as well all instructions come with the kit Quote Link to post

Ballybricken 1
I did the same as murdo, and wouldn't change a thing ... Love my 10/22 and aslong as it's kept clean they're a cracking bit of kit for lamping out the 4x4 (mine has a 12inch barrel on it so compact) does the job on bunnies out to 70 yards any further and we use the .17HMR ... As for 250 yard shooting with a .22 that's just irresponsible shooting at it's finest! Quote Link to post

In the CZ452, the only options are .22LR, .22WMR, .17HMR or .17M2. So I call BS! Quote Link to post

halamrose 24
Rimfire magic do do trigger upgrades for 10/22 but not for £12 - thats the kit for cz's Quote Link to post
doddsy1970 9
i dont think there all that good i had one and it allways jammed i would sugest get a cz452 american i didnt have no problem with that i could shoot rabbit with it a 250 yrds no problem I have had one for the best part of 15 years now and dread to think how many rounds i have put through it. I have replaced 2 barrels and sent it away to have the already mentioned trigger replaced and some remedial works done when the bullets would not cycle properly apart from that i have had no problems with it. Yes the occasional round jams but that is quickly sorted. As long as you regularly clean it, the gun will serve you for years. 250 yards are you sure?? Quote Link to post
Gloop 5
Well I'm sold!! specially as my dealer mate will let me try it before I buy to see how it groups and for well under £200 notes as well. 250 yards? Easy!! Hold the gun at 45 degrees......................................... Quote Link to post
halamrose 24
250 yards? Easy!! Hold the gun at 45 degrees......................................... It's not that the bullet cannot do that range, it can, but usefull accuracy is somewhat erm, limited. The drop will I think be about 8 or 9 feet and every yard the distance estimation is out will move impact by an inch, thats not allowing for wind. As the range increaces so estimaitng distance becomes harder yet drop angle increaces so distance becomes more critical. Maybe someone much better than I can hit a bunny at that range sometimes, but I would not consider it humain to try. Mind you I never have so maybe everything I'm saying is bulletsht.
