working dogs indoors

Recommended Posts

when i got my first lurcher it stopped in house for 2year then the pup came along and slowly the house started to get wrecked , the pup decided it liked to strip the wallpaper in kitchen so that was it pair of them outside , one thing i did notice is that they became more loyal to me because being with me all the time in house then only seeing me 4 times aday when walked and then feed time, they wouldnt leave my side when out walking , never noticed no different work wise

after 35 years of married life ( and in the region of 100 dogs in 40 plus years ) this is the first dog we have ever had in the house, you really get to know them, when out working he gives 101%, i would not have kept the lurchers in the house cant stand dog hairs, no loss of hair with this boy

Just my opinion but I've found a dominant high drive dog has a better attitude towards its handler if kept outside even if only in the day. Some dogs have much easier temperaments than others and it does'nt matter if in or out.
