moley 115
Is that your scientific conclusion then Moley? It's fairly obvious that not ALL BOP's are being persecuted, but I think we all know what goes on. no , simply an observation by someone who lives and works in the countryside, i personally think that if an animal or bird is causing a problem , then we should be able to solve that problem,i don,t however think that bop,s should be killed for killings sake,
sandymere 8,263
lordy they do get their knickers in a twist don't they! molly thats my headbanger! most prey species have evolved alongside their predators and so have a co-dependent relationship, if man unbalences the naturally evolved poulations by releasing or promoting a single species such as grouse or phesants then there will be a similer distruption in predator numbers. in the long term there is going to be more money in things like eco tourism, adventure holidays etc than grouse shooting so i feel that the days of the old fashioned keepers and their kill everything attitude are numbered. soon the old gits like myself who quietly walk the byways with a lurcher will be the only ones left and all the rich gits with their game keeper servants, hounds and horses will have fallen by the wayside. in some ways it will be a shame as i will miss chuckling to myself as i watch the keeper in the valley below wondering where his phesants keep disapearing too. T.F.Student 0
By promoting grouse, pheasant or partridge many other bird and mammal species benefit...this obviously includes BOP...by promoting any BOP what benefit is there to any other species(that is what is called single species promotion)!!! I might just add if the keepers go...how long will it be before there arent any pheasants for you to poach!!!
