Teesdale-rabbiter 15
Just wondering if any of you lads have had any success with this kind of trap? I'm going on holiday soon and was considering getting two to see if i could get a lobster or two, Cheers Quote Link to post
slingshot82 32
Never seen one like that before, It will need to be weighted well to stop it rolling around on the bottom. ATB Quote Link to post

I'm going on holiday soon and was considering getting two to see if i could get a lobster or two, Cheers Not caught any lobsters in mine, only used it when i went on holidays and caught hundreds of shrimp and a bloody great big rock crab. you just need to add some lead weights into it and make sure you tie the bait down or eels will make short work of it as they can get out of the trap. Cobra 0
There great for catching american signal crayfish. There easy to catch just puncture a tin of cat food with an old screw driver or something similar a few times to let the scent leak out then put it in the trap. The weight of the tin will help keep the trap on the bottom as well. You will catch more crayfish on a night than during the day. Then just boil them whole for about 15 minutes. when cool take out of there shells and enjoy with large amounts of real ale Quote Link to post
SAJ 0
They work well in the Summer months from the piers, when the shoals of mackeral are inshore. The seabed is usually littered with filleted mackeral carcuss, which send the edible crab, lobsters, velvets etc into a feeding frenzy. Quote Link to post
