ferreting1888 7 Posted March 26, 2010 Report Share Posted March 26, 2010 hi guys looking for some help. i have my pup doing the basics like sit stay and recall. this ive got spot on around the house ,garden. ive recently started taking her the odd walk with the shotgun and she loves it. shes retrieved 4 crows and a few pigeons excellent. the problem is just the last two times ive been out i cant get her to sit with me at a tree waiting on pigeons its quite frustrating because she just wanders about a little and comes back with a stick lol i know shes a pup but any help would be great. thanks sean Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Every time she moves, just correct her and put her back where she was. Make sure that after the session you use a release word like 'go on' or 'break' Start of with 2-3 minute sessions and build it up gradually over a few weeks until she sits without moving for 15-20 minutes. Then repeat in your garden, out the front, etc. etc. until she knows that she has to stay until you tell her.
