just had my renewal letter through the door and on it states that coarse anglers must have two licences to fish with three or four rods.

when was this load of bollocks introduced? because ive had my licence checked this year by one of them enforcement officers and he dident seem to have a problem with me fishing with four rods and only one licence. thats pissed me off now because i pay enough to fish on the fisheries themselves now i got to pay double for my rod licence

Thats always been the case you need another yearly permit for more than two rods its pissed me off its gone up another pound and have never come across an enviroment bailiff on the local canal and river that the eastern eauropeans are decimateing the fish stocks

go on your local river for trout youll see them but like you say wont see them where the polish are taking all the fecking carp.

I might be wrong but i think its illeagal to use more than four though not quite sure.

Have you bought your licence for this year yet? I know the year they introduced summer tags and spring tags for salmon around here and my uncle nearly got in trouble for using the wrong tags but since he argued they didn't bring it in until midway through the season and it wasn't explained on the licence he signed he got away with it.

its been 2 rod rule since the 80s, if you want to see a balif try worm fishing on a salmon run they appear from nowhere !

In the 90 years my dad, brother and me have been fishing between us only my dad has had his rod licence checked once about 25 years ago when coarse fishing on a reservoir that also had trout in it. The EA just want the coarse anglers money to subsidise the trout / salmon work and enforcement they do.

Years ago when we used to match fish all over the country, we had to have a license for each water authority we uesd to fish in. IIRC the most i had was 4. Anglian, Severn Trent, Thames and North West.

Only bought the Thames one for the National, what a waste of money that one was.

As an avid Carper, always had 2 so I'm legal

Good ob cause I have been asked for them last month

Agre with poacher though, we've had loads of trouble with our eastern block friends putting out death rigs tied to stakes and then decimating the fisheries here in N. West

As for only 4, you can fish as many as you wand so long as the fishery allows it, you have enough licenses to cover the rods and you can handle em.

Must say though, after having had a wipe out on 4, more than that is a risk

WELL 4 YEARS AGO I GOT A £120 FINE FOR USEING 3 RODS ON 1 LICENCE LEARNT MY LESSON THERE THATS THE ONLY TIME I AV EVER BEEN ASKED FOR MY LICENCE SODS LAW THAT

never bin asked for mine always had 1 though i agree about the east europeons takin fish an believe me they take every1 ive worked with some in the past when i lost my job an they take literaly everything small perch roach even gudgeon an thats how they are in there country they pay for a permit an they can take a certain weight every year in there country still not there country now somethin realy has to be done about this takes the piss out of us who care about fish numbers etc
