pie 10
ive got whip/grey from cracking lines,by the sound of it you may be better with the natural stamina of the collie, unless you av time to work on that with a whipxgrey, whipxgrey can be prone to injury so its always an idea to walk the ground before you go,mind you beat this cross for raw speed, good luck Quote Link to post

Probably a bit of a specialist enthusiasts breed rather than an everyday lurcher though. Quote Link to post

kill um with crisps 7
Huge fields = saluki x for me mate. 50% grey and the rest (for me) would be saluki and collie. Perhaps other stuff in there but i would defo want grey, collie and saluki in there. Quote Link to post
techworm 22
Good collie x greyhounds will soon learn to run clever rather than stand out as all out coursing dogs. I personally do not favour mixing the saluki with collie x greyhounds and instead would use pure saluki for coursing. Quote Link to post
poacher3161 1,766
Just get a well bred lurcher to lurcher bred pup out of genuine working parents and with a lot of luck it should be just wat you want.Dont listen to the rubbish that saluki hybreds are no good for lamping because nothing could be further from the truth Quote Link to post
Mikebee 7
i have a whippet/grayhound and the sire took rabits all night on the lamp and bigger stuff butt not ideal for the bigger stuff. Edited March 26, 2010 by CHALKWARREN Quote Link to post

Guest Mass_G3nocide
Saluki ColliexGreyhound get the right mix so 1/2 Saluki 1/4 collie 1/4 greyhound you wont be dissapointed. But thats just my opinion. Quote Link to post
Top Lamper 2k10 169
i would hav the whippet greyhound ive never seen 1 run but i reckon they would be fast as f**k and would hammer hares in little fields but they might hav a bit trouble in a big field but i bet if ya get a good sized 1 thats about 23'' 24'' tts it will take hares in big fields deffeanlty atbb Top Lamper Quote Link to post
poacher3161 1,766
It still amazes me some what when a mate bred his 7 year old proven collie lurcher to an outstanding courseing dog with merlin & eve in its bloodline that he struggeld to find home for excess pups as the saluki in them put some people off Quote Link to post
