scouse moocher 0
Anyone got any experience with Hernias in puppies? I know it is quite common but in all the pups ive had ive only ever seen it once and it dissapeared a week later. Got a 3 week old pup now and has quite a large umbilical hernia, anyone know the rough price for having this sorted out at the vet? Any info welcome Ant
ruby 7
Had a terrier pup with an umbilical hurnia last year it appeared at about 4 months.I had it operated on at about 5 months old it cost £100(my vets are reasonably priced) it was a very simple procedure the pup went in in the morning and out about 4 or 5 hours later never bothered the pup at all.I know there are different types of hernias and my pup only had fat coming out of the small hole, but it can be more serious if some intestine comes out so get it checked out by the vet. littlefish 586
My dog still has his, a little round bulge on his belly, over time it has never changed in size. It's not that big and has never caused him any problems - he's seven years old now. Hope your is ok - let us know how he got on at the vet.
