i and a lot of fieldsportsmen shoot, fish, and keep lurchers. the snobbery is dumb(as it mostly is).

there is no finer sight than a lurcher going full pelt behind a rabbit :toast:

if the man says he blanked you "because the other guns don't like lurchers" then he is a shallow dimwit with whom i would have nothing to do with, let alone a drink

i find the "best" people to be around are people who keep dogs, the only ones with more sense are the ones who work their dogs properly :boogie:

you can try and educate one of them if you feel the need,i would rather not and leave them to their shooting.

you are not alone bud.

your 100pc mate.you can see it on their faces at the game and country fairs.but the only thing we have in common is to pull together against the antis.[and that is the only thing.]

if that were the case then we may not have a ban in place mate,

"i'm allright jack" mentality will kill our sport for the upcoming/young sportsmen.

do what you do and be proud of the fact that you enjoy, care for and use the natural resources that are there in whatever capacity you choose(gun, dog, rod, hawk) and balls to those who have their noses in the air or "get one on them".

I had an idea a little while ago (and still have) that i wanted to put my plummer terrier across a bavarian bloodhound and then put the resulting offspring across a whippet. So i found a bavarian bloodhound breeder and called asking if i could buy one or perhaps put the plummer across one of their bitches. I was extremely taken aback by this womans attitude. One of her comments were "but bavarian mountain hounds are pedegree animals, we dont want their bloodlines sullied" to which i replied "and so are plummer terriers". She said "but the puppies wont be, they will just be mongrels"! I asked what the f**k its got to do with her what i breed it with after iv bought it but it was like talking to a brick wall. A lot of deer stalkers will of heard of this particular stuck up, snot nosed slag, her name is jan andrews the video making deer stalker.

I have been tagged a poacher most of my life and will be for the rest of my days mainley down to the dogs i keep but one thing is for certain the lurcher is a lot more accepted nowadays than it was 30 years ago proberbly due to the fact before the hunting ban came in and they needed all the support they could get.

No offence mate but your comments and post is bullshit and holds no water. I would say 7-8 out of 10 SUPPORT what your doing and the minority (hypocrites)are against it. I know dozens of keepers who run lurchers and terriers, so dont generalise them all with the few tossers you have met.

Generalising people like that is like saying all dogmen are thieves - see what i mean

And £20 per pheasant - more like £45 plus VAT.

Dont start bickering with people who enjoy a different sport than yourself, that makes you no better than an anti - if not worse because its people like you who split us up when we should stand as one. If you subdivide us into small categories we have a much smaller voice than when we are all together.

There would be a 10 fold bigger turnout to the hunting marches without attitudes like yours!
