jenksi87 3
just wondering wether many of you lads keep whippets kenneld? i have a jrt bitch that already stays outside and wondered wether it would be possible to get a small whippet bitch that can stay out with her? i have been doing a lot of reading up on whippets i.e diet e.t.c as i have not owned a running dog before, and up to now i have only read that whippets stay indoors due to there lack of fur and low body fat % if they are outside do they need a heat lamp or anything? p.s. i use shavings for my jrt's bedding so that she can snuggle into it cheers jenks Edited March 24, 2010 by jenksi87 Quote Link to post

heart of wales 19
As long as the kennel is draught proof and dry,I bought a whippet from Cambridge when I brought him home the weather was that bad I called him storm,He was always kennelled outside, different people have different preferences but I kennel all mine outside, one or two will come into the house from time to time. runningdogloopy 0
Hi, i have 2 whippets my dog is kept in a kennel and at the moment my bitch is in the house only because she is 16 weeks and i like to bring all my pups in to socialise them well. My dog is fine outside as long as the have plenty of bedding and the kennel is watertight and draught proof they should be fine. I use shredded paper for bedding for all my kenneled dogs they seem to be able to make like a nest in it. Hope this helps you. Quote Link to post
