fireman 10,997
My perfect above ground dog would be a acd with enough speed to catch things and i'm with everyone on she don't need watering down as you might loose the hybrid vigour,do know of a 1/2 x acd dog doing well so far Wild Rover if you were thinking of breeding her in the future . Most of the ACD's round here have been watered down and bull added, not for me, my old lad is 9 and im not ready to breed yet, so dont know, if hes still going strong next year maybe, but may then have to put a grew or something over the result, depending on the outcome as they may be too heavy, my bitch is built like a tank now haha, depends on how the pups threw.Cheers mate. wild rover 548
[ Sometimes,.. a nice and steady, lean and racy kind of Collie x Greyhound makes a useful leveller for this unique lurcher type All the best,.and good hunting,...regards,.CHALKWARREN... Have actually gave that some thought, my mate has a line from cur/greyhound, real good nose, feet, good ferreters and are good lampers but now aged, will see next year maybe.Cheers. fielder 18
I know that 3/4 breds have their advocates, and for good reason, but there are lots of occasions when people have had great first crosses which are then mated to pure sighthounds and have produced stock which doesn't have that "certain something" which attracted everybodies attention to the original dog. No offence intended Fielder as I can certainly see why you'd be thinking along those lines. Or to put it another way...I think she looks like she's doing a pretty good job as she is Wild Rover and if it aint broke don't fix it! No offence taken, it is good to hear other opinions. I have a similar bitch, spayed, she is great, could just do with a little more speed. Quote Link to post

Cheers mate, Have had first crosses for 17 years, did all that was asked of them, old lad in kennel is 9, the little bitch suits me, she wont be getting watered down, her drive , enthusiasm, conformation and catch rate are fine, dont suit everyone but suits me.Cheers.WR. Good for you! It is great to know what suits you and to put everything into your dog. You have a bitch to be proud of. Quote Link to post

wild rover 548
She did well, good wee ferreting/mooching companion by the sound of it.. She seems pretty stocky and a little fat, but by the sound of it, this does not seem to stop her, i suppose you have to see her work.? Frank. Cheers mate, a little stocky, ha, shes built like a tank, not fat, barrel chested, thick boned, strong feet, very nippy and agile, alert and responsive, not everyones cuppa but she's mine. All the best. Quote Link to post
