Swampy 147
These collars do have their place. As a last resort. I suspect that fat lazy b'tards are using these collars to stop the animal barking at strange noises, to limit the animals access to areas of the house etc etc.....................All from the comfort of their armchair in front of the telly! NOT for training purposes at all. The poor animal tries to get out of its bed and ZAP! WTF was that for? It doesn't have a clue why. Result a traumatised dog that has the potential to let rip one day. They are probably wearing them 24/7 only to be removed to change the batteries. However in the right hands over a very short period of time I have seen how effective they are. Not my preferred method of training by a long way. As usual a minority of idiots feked it up for the majority of responsible dog owners. Just my opinion you understand. rgds Swampy this ning is electrifying
Malt 379
I'd agree with that Swampy. They have no place in a pet home where the owners are using them for basic shite like SIT, STAY, etc. The only time I'd consider using one would be if I'd had taken on an older dog with a penchant for hassling stock. Even then it would only be used as a last resort, the last step before a one way trip to the vets..
