whats the way of killing, cooking and keeeping freshly caught crayfish. atb tim

Next time you come up i will take you to a place with a fair few, involves a bit of walking though if you think you can manage it :whistling:

as long as i dont get bit, like a certain brown hairy piece of shit that bit me last time :blink:

If you keep them in a bucket for 6-7 hours they don't seem to taste of mud. You do need loads as there is not much meat on them and the big ones seem to have as much as the little ones.

 

Last time I had some I boiled them in salt water until pink, let them cool to peel and then fried the meat up with chili, ginger, corriander and garlic then rolled some of this with lettuce and mayo in a tortilla. Great lunch.

 

I have done curries before with them, put them in fish pies, in salads and on the BBQ they are good fun if you have loads and people round to eat them and I wouldn't fancy buying 100+ big prawns.

 

They are also very plentifull I have borrowed two pots/nets before and can get over 100 in a night just using a mackrel for bait. I have a mate who has property on a local river which is very clean which helps but I know a guy who gets them out of the Wey in Guildford town centre where his office is.

i know more about fishing than you know how to tell a tell. :tongue2: am glad you know what a fox looks like the ones you see are from a distance :whistling:
