I run mine about the house for a few hours every few days all year around keeps them fit as a fiddle they love it, keeps the family happy because they love playing with them and its a great way to socialise new ferrets.

get them a harness and a mini extending lead, you have to take them somewhere remote though or you'll end up spending an hour answering a variety of the following questions (as I have done many times):

is it a squirrel?

is it a beaver?

is it an otter?

is it a rat?

is it a badger (????!!!!)?

Good way of chatting up birds though

i let mine out in the shed every day if i can , i have found that ferrets love the smell of new things and cant resist investigating , myne soon get bored with what ever i put in the shed or cages ,i find it important letting them out at the moment as they are seperated , go to a carpet shop they will have tons of cardboard tubes around the back the new smell will be iresistable to even a big old lazy hob ,and when they get bored just recycle em an get new ones , an old watering can, old leather footballs with holes in cut like flaps when they get bored of them i put them in the other cage the smell of the ferrets they are seperated from gets um going for a bit, a ferrets main asset is its nose ,new scent keeps um busy, myne even like a little dig on the flower bed sometimes but them cardboard tubes are good you can get as much and as long as you like then chuck um and get new as you want. :thumbs:hope this helps

the best excercise for mine is scrapping with the dogs, they love each other!

as soon as the ferretsare in the house the dogs are going mad,if the dogs are asleep the ferrets run to them and jump all over them untill they play with them

give them a half hour and thats that, dogs and ferrets are happy, socialised and most inportantly TIRED.

they don't bother when ferreting as rabbits are very high on the order of fun for both :boogie::boogie:
