Hi, mate.

Sorry, can't help you with price but the 80's a really good springer. An old design but still plenty useful.

Built to last, lovely trigger, rather heavy though.

You'll not go far wrong if the price is OK.

Good luck!!

Cheers.

Hi there Higham buddy,

The Weihrauch HW80 rifle is a very good spring piston rifle friend designed by the Germans and now sold at the UK spec by Hull Cartridge.

It was used for many, many years by the late and great John Darling, who if you didn’t know was a real legend in air rifle hunting who as sadly now passed away.

The rifle is very accurate and will take vermin all day long if in a good working order.

The rifle has a big chamber and so can be upgraded by a gun smith to push the power up beyond 12 FP if you process the correct FAC licence.

They also respond very well to tuning and if done by the right person they will shoot beyond a hunters own capability.

I was going to get one myself about 3 months ago second hand for £200 with scope but opted a bit later for a Air Arms ProSport.

Depending what the scope is will also depend on the overall price of what the rifle is worth mate.

Popular and good brands of scope are:

Hawke

Tasco

BSA

Nikko Stirling

Bushnell

Any of the above brands in the 3-9x40mm variant will start at around £30 up to maybe £100

I hope that this helps

this was my 1st air rifle .... back in 1986...(i know thats long ago) but brand new back them i paid 180 quid and at that time it was 1 of the best springers on the market .. nowa days they go for between 280-350 new so if you go in the middle i would imagine 2nd hand 120 to 150 ....

Good rifle. One thing to watch with 80s, they can easily creep over the limit so get it cronographed every so often, especially if you or anyone does any work on its internals. By the way I would get a V-mach kit for it. HW's often benefit from a simple tune.

great guns can be heavy for some but if youre ok with a bit of weight theyre brilliant i love weihrauch theyre built so solidly and well they will last literally a lifetime if cared for right. and yeah vmach it if its a good mate rate price and you can afford the 70 quid it costs for kit on top!
