What was your first piece of Fishing tackle ?

 

My Mum bought my brother and me a "White Whale" 10ft fishing kit each. Heavy as fook. 10 lbs line, floats you could use for piking. So on, so on. We used to fish on the Trent at Clifton bridge, we'ed ledger and just reel in after a few minutes and their would be a Gudgeon on the hook, we caught loads. We both thought we were Ivan Marks. LOL.

Pair of solid glass rods that were used for dead baiting, I was like the hulk.

hi,

its such along time ago know since i got my first fishing rod,and if i remember rightly it was a 10ft diawa ledger rod with a mitchell reel,i used that rod and reel for all soughts of fishing,(piking,float,ledger,carping)for a good many years,i did have to put a few new eyes on it over the years because i used to tie it to my push bike frame when i was a young boy,(30 years later)i still have that rod but it is used for something else now,its my rod for my floating pigeon decoy as it has got a bit worse for wear now!

but in all it was my one and only rod not like today you seem to have a differant rod for differant types of fishing,

6ft glass rod and a cheapo reel

caught loads with that! got all sorts now,sea,river and carp gear and still think of the first perch on that old thing(still at home at my dads )

your right on the rod for every job ,i had a woolworths rod that got used for everything and caught 9 times out of 10 ,30 years later a ton of tackle and blank 9 times out of 10 :sick: :sick:
