Alex, cheers for the vid

Did you say that the Storm is a sub12? (memory bad, no come to think of it I dont have a memory at the moment:icon_redface: )

The Rabbit Mags weren't they designed for FAC Air rifles? Think they operate best at something like 50+ ft/lbs (sure I read that somewhere)

Hi Alex.

Nice Footage mate, interesting results too.

I was using JSB exacts .22 15.9gr in my HW100T was getting avg of 571.40 FPS = 11.53 FTLB approx.

Thought I would try the Accupells .22 14.4gr and was getting Avg of 602.4 FPS = 11.61 FTLBS.

The above readings were taken in relativly cold conditions, so it will be interesting to see the difference when the weather warms up a bit.

Also the rifle has only had about 1500/2000 pellets through it.

Both pellet types grouped very well, but the accupells gave me crap sight readings using the Hawk BRC on 12x Mag, they didnt have as much clout at the target either, and seemed to be very hard pellet compared to the softer JSB which are pure lead, and I reckon slip through the barrel smoother.

So I have now cleaned the barrel and gone back to the JSBs. ( Purfic )

Its nice to try out the different types an see the results, even though time consuming.

Im thinking of experimenting with head size next, to make full advatage of the rifling.

All good fun a ??

hi bill

i think that is one of the disadvantages of the gunpower series is the internal diameter of the barrel... it a .22 but i think a large .22 like maybe 5.56 rather than 5.52.... now i know were only talking tenths of a mm but i do think it makes a difference as the rabbit magnums and jsb didnt really need any effort to push in but the accupells and bisley's and the dyno TAC's did... a tighter fit will increase the effect of the rifling of the barrel in turn give a greater spin and stabler pellet trajectory  ...... in theory :hmm:

let me know hoe you get on...

thanks for the feedback bill

yeah they are well to heavy for a sub 12ft/lbs rifle they are 24.4 grain but they main reason i think for the bad group is that the pellets hardly touch the side of my barrel i recon an asmatic field mouse could blow one of those down the barrel...

im gona do some more testing tho as surly i cant be limited to 2 pellet types for my storm....

FX pellets??

hi Alex

i use AA fields .177 & .22

i also have done a few tests (cant beat a good pellet test!)

and have had some good results with accupell's,defiant,l/penetrators,field target & trophy,

but the ones which matched my AA the best were JSB exacts heavy's.

okay well that a good start for my next test then davy thanks... will be interested to see how the AA field will perform as i have heard some good feedback from them and the jsb exact but like i showed in the vid the jsb exact jumbos had a stray one but then that could of been a dip in power on that shot, a slighty off skirt (even tho i normally always check!!) but, i have done a chrony test from a full fill and it only drops is small segments over say 30 shots so..... i dont know...... :hmm: :hmm: just one of them isnt it... keep going till i find my perfect matches...
