Carting cartridges

I only applied for a SGC as it was easy to do ath the same time as the FAC but now I have one I'm suppirsed how jolly it is. Those 12 bore cartridges are a bore to carry arround, so how do you carry yours? Bag? Pocket? One of those fancy belts like a Mexican Bandito? Is a neoprene or leather belt better?

Cheers,

Halam

Why, how many are carrying?

If I'm rough shooting, 10-15 in my pocket. Absolute tops

If I'm out for a pheasant shoot or pigeons, I may put 50 in a leather cartridge bag. If I need any more, I'll go back to the truck.

I have a cartridge belt, that I would wear occasionally...put not very often.

Travel light..........just enjoy it!

Go for the full Pancho Villa job. Crossed bandoliers over each shoulder, one slung round yer hips. DON'T FORGET THE SOMBRERO. Then you want 2 Colt .44 Navys in yer belt holsters, 2 more in shoulder holsters, an 18" Bowie at the back of your belt and an Arkansas toothpick slung at the back of yer neck. Oh, and a .41 o/u Derringer in each boot.

Sorry bruv, just got a bit carried away there . . .

Normally and i say normally before anyone gets upset the people who have cartridge belts cant shoot fot s**t

So a shooter ability depends if he/she keeps his carts in a pocket, bag or belt? :wankerzo4: :wankerzo4: :realmad:

I dont want to be one of those peaple you see who have 'all the gear but no idea'. Having certain items of gear isn't going to make me a good shot but may add to my enjoyment of being out.

Nod didn't say everyone with a cartridge belt can't shoot, he was carefull in what he said. Chill out, we all enjoy similar sport so lets not get hung up on minor differances.

Cheers,

Yeah! Just imagine all the Hooray Henrys with their Purdey SbS poncing around. Their brand new Wange Wovers in the lane, Henriettas all carrying the pate sarnies and champers and you step out your battered old airweight looking like Clint Eastwood on a bad day. Smile sweetly at all in sight then cut loose with your M4 Benelli 8+1 and kill every bird in the county.

Dream on Ric, dream on.

that'll be me then :whistling:

pockets are ok, but the trouble with them, or should I say "mine" is they accumalate a lot of crap, bits of twigs, dirt, dust, fag ash etc, you then throw a box (25) carts into your pocket, and all that shite sticks like a magnet, Im then picking bits off, or giving them a "blow" before loading, as I dont want that muck in the barrel, so YES I use a cartridge belt, holds 50 carts, keeps them clean, and I can easily see how many I have left,

so, now,do I, get rid of the belt, as per nod's advice, It'll make me a better shot, wont it :hmm:

or say, feck what anybody else thinks, as long as Im having fun, sorry carrying out pest control, who gives a shite :D

He he he, you have a cartridge belt then :tongue2:

The reason i say that is cause i do a lot of beating on a few estates, there is a lot of people on these that use belts, next time u are on a shoot check there shooting out and tell me its not true.
