stealthy1 3,964
Nice shooting Davy And on the poor rabbit, I would have whacked it, I dont mind things living to fight another day if you know what I mean, but if they're ill, bunny heaven is the only place, plus it has the chance to infect the other bunnies on your patch hi stealthy tanks buddy but this is where i will have to disagree! reasons: as it was so close and wasn't sure! on my hold under, i thought it was better to leave it.just in case of error on hold under! rather than injuring it and it having getting a way to suffer in more pain than it already is. i did think about it but if you listen to the audio of the footage then you will hear me putting my safety back on.when in doubt don't shoot but do respect your opinion! regards davy Yep! know exactly what you mean mate 1 Quote Link to post

zini 1,939
Nice shooting Davy buddy and a good choice i think with the 3 metre bunny. Si Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Lads, Hats off to Davy A rabbit at 3 metres will require considerable hold over due to the scope being higher than the barrel. To allow for the barrel to be in line with the rabbits brain at that close range the barrel will need to be raised, hence hold over. If hold under was given the rabbit would of either been completely missed or it would of been hit in the bottom of the chin or neck around the throat area causing it a terrible and distressful ending. Davy was right to make his decision and I think that he is a good example for all of us . If we are not sure then do not take the shot. Better wait and kill the rabbit cleanly with a good humane shot or let Mother Nature do her bit than hit it in the throat and let it run off and die in great pain down a hole. jasper65 6
Just seen the thread! cracking write up Davy and what a day , days like that makes it all worthwhile mate .... did you find out what was wrong with the Bunny? he looked pretty sick and even sicker after the pellet his him.... Let us know what you think to the new MTC scope please? I love my 3 - 12 Mamba and would like in time to stick another MTC scope on a different rifle. a lad came round yesterday with a 3.5-10x42 Niko Sterling Nighteater and I must admit I was well impressed with the clarity of the scope but I'm still in love with my MTC Mamba.... atb jasp Quote Link to post
