All the best s Jones has been turning heads for a while now with his style its a shame he got carried away & lost his 0 against Hamill. The HW division looks very interesting & Guida is just plain mad Likewise, as much as i would like to see an Englishman win i can't see GSP getting beat unless he gets caught again like he did against Serra. Mir looks a big lump until you realise what weight Carwin has been fighting at, from a betting perspective the odds against for Carwin looks a touch more appealing. Attack Fell Terrier 864
I thought it was a bit of a let down last night. Dos Santos is lethal, and a great addition to the heavyweights. Jones looks a handful but I wanna see someone actually hit him with something, before I decide on how good I think he is. Vera is going backwards IMO, he's completely folded and its a shame as he does have talent, just doesn't have the mentality to cope against the fella's that push him it seems. Cheick Kongo vs. Buentello was painfully boring to watch, and Irwin vs. Sakara was a bit of a farce as well. Hopefully the next one will be better.
gnasher16 30,279
Must admit i lost interest in the mma stuff recently, the pathetic yank ways of obssesive screaming, hand gestures and hyping things up got the better of me,along with those cringeworthy gumshields !! ive seen it all now " intimidating gumshields " ......but.....st pierre and frank mir are both fighters i admire as they fight with intelligence as well as talent.I cant see the english kid getting much change out of st pierre and frank mir seems to have a new lease of life and has worked on his pure strength in the last year,if his conditioning is up to par i think he can beat near all the heavyweights.....personally i think brock lesnar has exposed the world of mma for what it is. Looking forward to the fights this wknd they should be interesting.
stig 2
well i be lieing if i wasnt just a little chuffed with the results.Hardy it was a shame did absolutly nothing throughout the whole fight and i mean nothing not one good strick ,dominant position nothing a clinic in takedowns and grappling.Would have liked to have seen that arm bar and kimora finished but it looked like there was no way hardy was going to tap! Well as we both said cupid it would have bee hard to back carwin but did he shock us or what those shot looked hard and i mean hard such hu8ge power then again from the start i think Mir wasnt there i think he spends way to much time and energy getting his knickers in a twist about brock and should have focused his game planning. Anyone gunna call Edgar vs Penn Silva vs Mia thise are some top fighters Mia by some way by far the best jits fighter but can he withstand silvas striking ?? Anyone ? all the best s
trappa 518
Penn v Edgar....Penn, easily. Silva v Maia... If it stays on the feet silva will outclass maia for sure, if on the other hand Maia can take it to the ground then it gets interesting!
kash 1
the dan hardy-v-gsp was a brilliant fight although it was a shame dan didn't win it wasn't the walk over his critics or gsp thought he would be
trappa 518
Ye, Gsp is superb at what he does. to be honest with you I was hoping he would stand and trade a bit. Im not against the ground game, far from it, but we all knew GSP had far superior ground skills and as arguably the P4P champion, i thought he could have came out of his safety net and traded a little. Though I guess being the champ he has the perogitive to do what he wants i suppose! LOL
gnasher16 30,279
Personally i think the kid Hardy totally embarrassed himself....i sky plussed it and watched it the next day, even my mrs said " why does that bloke keep trying to show off his gumshield " !!....all that cringeworthy posturing and nonsense is ok if you go out and try to win a fight, but Hardy never made any real effort to win and the fact he wouldnt tap out and is clearly a tough enough kid shows no guts whatsoever if he is not actively trying to win....which he wasnt....anyone can stand there and get beaten up,but true guts and gameness is when your doing that while trying to win yourself. It was nothing more than a tough workout for st pierre. I was surprised at that Carwin fella he looks a very powerful puncher even his taps from the clinch were doing damage....it annoys me that Frank Mir trys to do things he is not particularly good at....why he doesnt get opponents on the ground and do what he is good at i dont know Id like to see Penn beat Edgar....im not familiar with Silvas opponent so cant comment. Did i hear that right Matt Hughes is fighting Royce Gracie again ? Edited March 29, 2010 by gnasher16
Guest eastmids
not the same gracie but one of that clan hughes is fighting i think??? hardy ....well i give credit despite his lack of skill and being totaly out matched pierre had 5 rounds and still couldnt finish him. hopefully hardy will go away and and practice a bit more ground game and a little less mouth in future. i like the look of one fella not sure who they were second from last fight i think?the way he took that fellas knee out with a leg lock,he looked one dangerous chap,i do prefer to watch the submission specialists at work rather than standup. Cupid Stunt 18
not the same gracie but one of that clan hughes is fighting i think??? Renzo Gracie Before that is UFC Fight Night21 which i think is in the early hours of this thursday featuring Roy 'Big Country' Nelson who won the last TUF. As i said previously the odds against(11/10) about Carwin was slightly more appealling to me so i had a few quid on when he drifted out to 7/

I was ok the week before, i had £10 on Jones, kongo and JDS so that was ok.

Did i hear that right Matt Hughes is fighting Royce Gracie again ? Mate, Im pretty sure Hardy did try to win, he was just taken down at every opportunity by the best P4P fighter in the world- nothing to be embarrassed about, and it might annoy you that the Mir fella was trying to do things to the Carwin fella but couldnt but i assure you he was trying but Carwin is a beast and powered him onto the octagon wall. Im sure if Mir could have got the Carwin fella onto the floor he would have!
