bucknut 1
Just been reading topic on working dogs re docking tails. Though some people would appreciate this gen/advice (having said that some always spoil thing on here). Anyway - Vets just rip you off! Im sure we will all agree. My advice is look for a freelance who works from home. All local vets wher i live wanted £30 per pup so i llooked around and I found one in Northumberland who is pro working dogs, works from home and only charges £12 per tail- with certs all above board and no chipping until later in life if needed. PM me if you need her number. buck Quote Link to post

Catcher 1 639
Our Local vet has turned into a total bitch.Wont even sell you worming tablets unless you register your dog with her.She seems to forget about 25 years ago when she was starting out and whom she was making her money of. Would never take any off my dogs near her now Quote Link to post

dave a 24
How would u dock the tails yourself? you would dock a whole litter faster than i could type in this post.no offence lads but why dont ye dock your own pups, who is to know if ye dont broadcast the information.your first mistake is mentioning it on here.ignore stupid laws dreamed up by crooked bunny huggers and just do the sensible thing. waidmann 105
its illegal to do it yourself. you can use the "hot docker" (used to dock piglets). basicly a soldering iron with a blade. you can cut them off with scissors(pushing the skin back) and stich the end. you can bite them off(plyers have the same effect). these are all methods used by a vets in my presence and so are perfectly "ok". waidmann Quote Link to post
