joel222 65
At that age he is going to get excited, and want to play.Let him go and dont call him untill you see he`s bored or all ready looking for you,Then instead of him not coming and you calling, In his mind you call he comes back gets a pat.No point trying to tell a dog to do somthing its not going to do your just training it to ignore you. I get what you're saying but when the dog's all muddy and he's heading over to someone out walking with jumping up at them in mind I don't have much choice but to call his name Quote Link to post
ben0777317 0
Just keep walking and ignore him, he'll soon come. Both my dogs did this and both quickly grew out of it, they don't even notice other dogs now. Quote Link to post
waidmann 105
if you pre emt the "attack" then you should not have too much trouble(mine is the same age).if i see someone else i put him on the lead. if i don't think he will come back i wont call. only a succesfull repetition will have the desired learning effect waidmann Quote Link to post

upperlane2 4
hi mate get urself a long lead let the dog have a smell/play as soon aS U call and it dosent respond give it a gentle tug and when it comes back give it plenty of praise. It will soon get the picture and the pup should want to be with u so plenty of play and praise at that young age. Quote Link to post
