Guest 2GOOD
Sully the reason the farmers slam the door in your face is because they have had so meany people who think the land is theres. Farmers get a harsh deal in certain areas, and i know this because i work on a farm part time. How would you feel if you couldnt leave your diesel tank unlocked, cant leave tractors in field, come to a field to find someone has stolen your gates and water troughs etc. I remember one night working late when the local waste of spece stopped in to ask for a tow out a feld. (He was in one of OUR fields heding towards the digger to empty it). Well you can immagine what happened. In summary, DONT jump in with both feet first and ask for lurcher work, thats a big no no. Try and get in some other way (ferreting, moles, pigeons )etc. I think you sound like a genuine bloke, the kind this sport really needs. Do your best pal, and try not to tarnich the name by thinking as others do that it is there right to go where they please and take what they want. Boils my piss to see some peoples attitude these days. Nothing better than towny, chavvy little pricks that should do the legwork before bamming someone off. Keep trying mate, theres nothing better than having pleanty of ground thats all legit. Takes the heat off you working your dogs. Cheers FTB FTB you got room for one more on your patch ,im looking to become a good citizen ,i will behave mabe you might be able to show me the eror of my ways ,and make me into a roll model and i wonder how these people got the land in the first place ,i mean hundreds of years ago when it did not belong to any one ,what gave them the right to say ,this is mine . FightTheBan 1,147
Theirs no big deal as long as no damage or theft of other things besides rabbits is done But you have to look at it from there side mate. Some farmers that get a raw deal as soon as they see a lamp are on the phone to the screws. Idiots with dogs have dragged all our names through the mud to an extent than some farmers assosciate dogmen with thieves. I cant say i blame tham. It must be so disheartening to work you fingers to the bone for some dole scrounge to come and drive over your fields leaving a trail of destruction. We owe it to the sport to portray it in a good light, so use your heads guys and do it the way it has always been done. FTB Quote Link to post

Sully 3
Fight the Ban, 100% with you, look please fella's lets not get into an argument at allover this debate, I was really hoping to have a grown up debate on something we all feel passionate about, so I really ask for us all to keep on the level and not make it a have permission Vs a have no permission slanging match, I deplore thieveing in anyway, but thats the problem, I do feel guilty and am not proud of the situation, but like I said, I have loved and love my dogs very much, and the very thought of my dogs working, usung instinct laid down over thousands of Years makes me shiver with excitement, how on erth can me bring field sports into our next generation, my boys sit on there own in their bedroom hooked up to msn, face book and xbox, yet I cant get them out for an hours lamping with their old man, not right is it ? boyo 1,398
up untill fairly recent years i have never had permission and not for the want of trying but my dogs always had plenty of work. i also used to take my son out poaching with me and as i once told a supervisor who was a anti and was on my shift if the only trouble my son brings home if a fine for poaching then not only will i be happy but ille pay the fine as well for him the look on his face i can still see 30 odd years later. yes it is easier to be not looking over your shoulder all the time when you have permission but also truthfully the little bit extra something is not there when your on permission .you lot that do it will know what i mean even driving to and from the drop off theres always that extra buzz about it when you get in to the first feild away from the vehicle and the same when going back to it . i would say the only time i feel a lot happier on permission is when retreiving long ears because the penalties nowadays are so harsh and unrealistic if caught after them. not everyone will agree with what is posted but thats life each to their own . Luckily through work i have more permish than you could shake a stick at, but to lads who find it hard, do the legwork and it will pay off in the long run. FTB Quote Link to post
