davyt63 1,845
Hi every one Chaz & I popped out for a couple of hours, before the heavy rain was to set in We went to Liddington just about 5 minutes away. We were all set up by 11:30am then the rain came in for midday But it wasn’t too bad as it was the light rain, so we persevered and stuck it out! Now this particular field is usually busy! But for some reason it was very quiet! We noticed a BOP in the middle of the field so may be that didn’t help. Anyways got me scopecam turned on after seeing a bit of movement 2hrs later! a young bunny had surfaced for a stretch and a meal,And ranged it @ 55yds with my gun tuff range finder, so a small amount of holdover was needed, although it doesn't look like it! Had the cross hairs locked on THWACK! AA field delivered Up it went and down dead. You will have to excuse my words of excitement Footage! After taking the shot, chaz was on the radio and was coming back for a cuppa and we went back to me van, we found a snare and realized that’s why it was quiet. Some one had been trapping them and we noticed about 10 carcases up by the entrance in to the field. We had a quick walk around the opposite field, but not much more happened after this, Apart from a roe deer jumping out from the bush and startling me! And the heavy rain came down, on the way back to the van we both became 2 inches taller what with the mud on our boots . Plus my range finder ocular lens got wet as they don’t come with a cap. So I went home and made a blue peter one! http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=147344 Happy hunting Davy Quote Link to post

Bill. tanks bill no we did not dispose of any snare's,as this farmer is a nice bloke and after all we are all doing a job trying to rid the vermin but we did find one which was not in use and are going to hand it back to the farmer! just to make sure!that its not being poached regards davy Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
Excellent shot Davy I was expecting a parachute to open on its way down again. That was quite a leap Your becomming very proficiant shooting from the cam, you'll soon be shooting from the hip  I reckon the farmer has not given permission to snare to anyone because surely he would not want a pile of bodies bringing in the Corvids and the Foxes? or is he just Arable? Again excellent shot Phantom Quote Link to post
