Sako Hunter or Varmint

Hi folks! Having used Sako rifles in the past and loving them! i am now going to purchase another .243 for Deer/Fox and the odd paper punching outing.Dont know if to go for the Hunter or Varmint?. Does anyone shoot a Varmint? is the extra weight a problem etc.

I shoot a 75 varmint in .308,it's never bothered me the extra weight but it depends on your stature,whether you add a moderator, walk your ground, shoot from high seats or freehand, off sticks, numerous things. It's important to be comfortable and to be able to keep a steady aim. Try handling one, make sure you try with mod fitted and or bipod these all affect balance and weight. They do shoot well, good luck with your purchase.

The Sako varmint is bloody heavy if you're carrying it, but if you're not it's a beautifully made, wonderfully accurate shooting platform.

 

So basically, if you're walking - Hunter, if you're not, Varmint.
