shaaark 10,857
@ sowhat, but obviously anyone can answer lol, but whippets in general, pures and racing types, well maybe not so much racing types or grews. Do you find them faster or slower in general than whippets of say15-20 years ago? I've owned a few whippets over the years, last one about 15 years ago, and they all seemed faster than the dogs around today. Plus, I've been arguing with my lad about the speed of whippets compared to some lurchers, and he's adamant that the whippets he's seenf are slow? Show your son this clip of my dog winning the 40lb scratch championships about 14/15 yrs ago he's in the black jacket Pemslad (Zak) he weighed 38lbs, he also ran off againt the no weight limit class winner & won that making him supreme scratch winner & braking the track record https://youtu.be/hDHZGsKW-4w Cracking that . What distance was that over? 1 Quote Link to post

sowhat 1,572
Anyone have/had anything off 'Son of a bitch' or related? Seen this dog run, he was like shit off a shovel his dam (home bird) through alot of flying machines. I had one out of this breeding but he turned out to be abit on the bully side (bully in stature & bully in nature he cost me £300 in a vet bill after ragging a west island white terrier & had to say goodbye http://www.whippet-data.co.uk/cgi-bin/geneal.pl?op=tree&index=15386&gens=5&db=bwra.dbw 1 Quote Link to post

I had a lovely collie greyhound called Sally a cracking working & lurcher racing bitch she was well known up & down the country for her speed & beauty very rarely did she get beat at lurcher racing by genuine lurchers & on afew occassions when we got her arse kicked it was with a whippet x greyhound, so I thought fight fire with fire & used Country Music over here, result, flying machines. In 1986 she won the UK showing final judged by Phil Lloyd & went on to win the un 23" uk racing tile twice. Her daughter Mona won the un 23" racing all over the country & was a excellent lamping bitch. If you click onto Pennysworth on the data base link I've put on, you'll see where Country Music comes into her breedin ps all our dogs have been home bred since the late 80s I'll put some of are flying machines up on here that go back to Country Music. I make no apologies for blowing my trumpet if you've got it, flaunt it http://www.whippet-data.co.uk/cgi-bin/geneal.pl?op=tree&index=27720&gens=5&db=bwra.dbw 1 Quote Link to post

Not disputing anything, I don't have much knowledge of racing types, just love fast types, however they're bred Edited May 16, 2017 by shaaark Quote Link to post
