Edd_Wiltshire 9
Hence you dont tell them its a working dog mate, they wouldnt touch you with a bargepole if you do. Quote Link to post
skellyb 8
Marks and Spencer. Mine insured with them and no problems making claims and pretty quick on payouts. They don't insure any dog used for racing or fighting, as a guard or security dog, wolf hybrids, American Bulldogs and any breed of dog registered under the Dangerous Dogs Act but no mention of "working dogs" Edited March 18, 2010 by skellyb Quote Link to post
chartpolski 23,046
Mine are insured with the PDSA, and they know they are Lurchers and the only stipulation is no racing. They were previously insured with Tesco's; same again, working didn't come into it, only no racing. In fact, every quote I've had online, not one of them has mentioned working, only racing ! Cheers. skellyb 8
Forgot to add re Marks And Spencer, they won't cover anything that is caused by, relates to or results from; • your pet’s medical history before the insurance started. • your occupation, your profession or any business. Gaz_1989 9,539
Echo whats said above mate. Dont tell them you work your dogs at all. They are pets. If they were injured working then you were out walking through a field :-) Quote Link to post

I've had two claims recently from work incurred injuries, the vet knows my dogs are workers, and he filled in the claim forms. Money was recieved in under two weeks, no questions asked ! Cheers. walshy26 2
i would sooner have them insured with a company that knows they are working dogs . its not so bad saying there pets if your taking them to vets for an illness but what happens if your out at night lamping are whatever and you need to get emergency vet . there gunna think your a bit tapped if you say i was just out for a walk would sooner have it all proper you never no whats going to happen especially me i must be the unluckiest c**t on this planet Quote Link to post
skellyb 8
If they do not ask and as long as they are not connected for instance with a pest control company then there isn't a problem. Quote Link to post
Edd_Wiltshire 9
Dont think any companies will insure a working dog mate. If your dog sutains an injury from working, say a nasty gash from barbded wire or broken leg then its the insurance company together with the vet who have to prove its from working. If they can tell if a dog has broken its leg from normal running or from a working run then i would be bloody surprised! Quote Link to post
skellyb 8
Think you are being slightly over the top about this but if you want to tell the insurance try this http://www.lrmsliabilityplus.co.uk/form_generalquotation_working-security-dogs.aspx Quote Link to post
