how to tell if its a good pup or not?

Recommended Posts

Well reared pup of the right breeding, doesn't have to be working ie racing grey may never have worked but it will have genrations of good breeding and will bring what you want if mixed with the right cross. The right cross will depend on what you are looking to do in the way of work. I'd go for a 3/4 sighthound as a first lurcher such as a 3/4 grey 1/4 collie, it should be reasonable nicely made even as a pup and come from an even/level litter.

Why whippet rather than greyhound? Has the whippet got show or duel purpose in it's background? When I say the parents haven't got to be workers I don't mean that they shouldn't come from working/racing lines just that they haven't got to have worked themselves.
