Lab 10,979 Posted December 11, 2011 Report Share Posted December 11, 2011 Dont overcrowd the pens with birds, control the vermin and hand feed and you'll probably find out that different strains wont make much of a difference to your average at the end of the season. Theres that many x's of pheasants out there now i would be very suprised if your supplier knew exactly the cross of the birds they are selling. Quote Link to post
Rhodey 96 Posted December 12, 2011 Report Share Posted December 12, 2011 We have had common ringneck this year and they fly fantastic but they tended to stray a bit. If its your first year try black necks for the first year there a bit of a pain to get flying well but they hold brilliantly hardly any doggin in. Then you can find were any possible leaks from the estate are with out to many birds straying making it easier for you when you change breed. Just a thought for you. Quote Link to post
