i took his brother out today and nearly broke down because i seen a bone in the feild which he always used to pick up and play with.

Ah mate, absolutly gutted for you, i saved a dog from drowning when i was about 9/10 we were throwing sticks into a pond and my mates JRT got his leg caught on something, it wasn't deep but we were MILES from home, silly really but it is human reaction.
